Sidewalk Runway: Halloween Style

Halloween costumes are an excellent example of fashion creativity

While Thursday, October 31 is actually Halloween, it’s a work or school night for many partygoers and trick-or-treaters. To avoid the after effects on Friday morning, many headed downtown last week. On Friday and Saturday nights a portion of Granville St. was blocked to cars. Normally reserved and introspective Vancouverites were festive, upbeat and rarely missed an opportunity to pose for a photo. I saw lots of store bought costumes (SWAT team and super heroes for guys and sexy Cinderella, sexy officer or sexy pilot variations for women). However I was drawn to the unique, creative and partially made costumes.
