Poonam Sandhu leads UBC to victory
Vancouver resident is a member of the Canadian National field hockey team
Poonam Sandhu led UBC to victory in the Canadian women's university field hockey championship recently in Victoria.
UBC defeated Victoria 4-1 in the final.
Sandhu, a John Oliver Secondary graduate, just finished her fourth season with UBC and now has won three Canadian university championships. She has twice been named a Canada West conference all-star and was a Canadian Interuniversity Sport First Team All-Canadian in 2011.
