One woman play crashes the senses

Crash is written and performed by Dora Award winner Pamela Sinha

Dora Award winner Pamela Sinha reprises her role in Crash, a riveting narrative about a woman facing shattered memories of a past sexual assault. One of The Globe and Mail’s Top Five plays of 2012.
In this one-woman show, Sinha tells the story, in the third person, of an unnamed rape survivor who has a flashback during her father’s funeral.
Details of the horror she endured at the hands of a stranger in a Montreal apartment a decade earlier are slowly revealed, interspersed between scenes showing how the traumatizing crime affected her relationships with her family members afterward, and their relationships with each other and God.
Sweeping the 2012 Dora Awards (Toronto’s theatre awards) Crash was recognised for a multitude of awards including Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Performance by a Female.
Since professional theatre awards are peer juried, a win of this scale means the Toronto theatre community was unanimous in selecting this production as 'the' show to see.
The 75-minute show is currently running at Gateway Theatre in Richmond and closes November 24th.
