New job search program for seniors

 

The Experience Works Program held at the Robert Lee YMCA on Burrard Street is one of a limited number of employment initiatives aimed at assisting unemployed men and women age 55 or older, living in Vancouver or Burnaby.

Participants benefit from a 5-week program focused on essential job search and job maintenance skills. Workshops provided include: how to write an effective cover letter and resume, computer skill development, interview practice, personality assessment, communication skills, the hidden job market, and First Aid. 

All participants receive a training allowance for the duration of the classroom training. Additional valuable assistance connecting with either employment or further training is provided after the initial five weeks.
