Sidewalk Runway: Aphisara

2nd Annual Thai Festival provides backdrop for this week’s photo shoot

The 2nd Annual Thai Festival was held on the north side of the Vancouver Art Gallery Sunday (7.5.15). I stopped to listen to the music and spotted a lady wearing an interesting outfit. I introduced myself and learned Aphisara had just purchased the pants from a local designer at the event. Saimurai Apparel (a play on words) features a fusion of Thai handmade exterior pockets and waistbands paired with Japanese screen print style fabrics. We headed to the “sidewalk” and did a mini photo shoot. Aphisara was extremely comfortable in front of the camera moving effortlessly from pose to pose. She mentioned she’s a Make-up Artist and she enjoys dancing.
