Work placement: At Douglas College, we did a lot of co-op, which led to the position I’m in now. The practicum was one semester long.
Advice: Engage in a lot of co-op and work placement opportunities to gain a better understanding about the marketing industry. Douglas College and BCIT programs allow for more hands-on knowledge. I also have a Business Certificate that I got in conjunction with my Marketing Diploma. It’s great, it allows me to figure out budgeting, operational things in organization and events planning.
LIFESTYLE:
Favourite activity: Reading, shopping, hanging out with friends and family.
Upcoming vacation plans: Haven’t planned anything yet, but I hope to go somewhere warm.
In five years I see myself enjoying: Moving on in a position of management, becoming a director of marketing for example. I’d also like to continue establishing a good balance of creativity and practicality.
