Sidewalk Runway: Mercy
Summertime transforms a sidewalk into an oasis for expression
Thank goodness Mercy’s boyfriend was late meeting her. That gave us a chance to chat and shoot. I asked about her lovely dress which she said she bought from River Island. Since River Island is a UK company I correctly guessed she’s from England (incidentally she doesn’t have an English accent). My second correct guess came after observing how she walked. Her confident, composed stride told me she was a runway model. Later that evening I visited her website. I saw runway photos of big hair, make-up, sultry poses and amazing outfits. She’s in Vancouver visiting family. She will be returning to England in a few days.
