Migrant workers focus of story night

The plight of temporary migrant workers in Canada is on display for the public

The situation of temporary migrant workers in Canada — the invisibles and the disposables — is seen through the lens of poetry and paintings, in this night of storytelling.
“Invisibles and Disposables: Migrant Workers in Stories, Painting, Photography and Poetry” takes place on Wednesday, December 17 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Britannia Branch Library, 1661 Napier St (off Commercial Drive).
Join grassroots organizers, migrant workers, and advocates who work and do their creative pursuits in their home and host languages: Spanish, Filipino, and English.
Migrante BC, the Filipino migrants’ organization, The Migrant Workers Dignity Association (MWDA), the organization of Spanish speaking migrant workers, El Cencerro, the Latin American Magazine, in partnership with VPL’s Britannia Branch Library, commemorate International Migrants Day (Dec 18) and International Human Rights Day (Dec 10) with this program.
The event is free, and everyone is welcome. Learn more at www.migrantebc.com.
