Sidewalk Runway: Myriam/Chantal/Rose

Rouge & Blanc requires formal dress attire for those wanting to attend

There’s something magical about walking to the beach and watching fireworks while perched on a piece of driftwood. However Saturday, August 1st marked the first time watched the Celebration of Light from the middle of English Bay. There are quite a few boat cruises but Rouge & Blanc had an interesting twist. In honor of Canada’s participation organizers required a fashionable dress code. Women were asked to wear red and men were asked to wear white. It was interesting to see the different range of reds. Most fell towards the bright candy apple and fire engine reds but there were a few darker crimson and oxblood reds too. The styles fell toward the low cut maxi length, body-con and cocktail dresses. However I also saw a shift dress and a jumpsuit. The red dresses set against the blue water and golden sunset was just as breathtaking as the fireworks. Drinks, a DJ, dancers, a singer and a funky/jazzy band kept guests topside and dancing till 10pm.
