Canada must urgently revise its labour market strategies to retain its competitiveness and uphold its reputation as an attractive destination for workers. It states a new study examining the nation’s growing need for skilled immigrants.

Recent legislation banning employers from requiring Canadian experience for job applicants is a positive step, but more efforts are needed to open pathways to employment amidst critical labour shortages and skills mismatches, according to the report by Deloitte.
